Starting point
A long project PDF contains finance, design, and legal chapters, but each reviewer needs only one section.
Online PDF tool
Separate a long PDF into smaller documents, extract one chapter, or save only the page ranges you actually need.
Nothing to install, and your first eligible task finishes before you sign in. TapScanner has 100M+ mobile downloads
Drag a file in, or choose one — it opens in the workspace below, already loaded.

How it works
Choose the PDF you want to split.
Select pages, ranges, or the available split method.
Process and download the resulting files.
Complete the job
Follow the whole path before you start: choose the source, set the job, run the workspace, verify the output, and continue only when the result is right for its next use.
After processing
A completed result still deserves a quick check. Keep the original, inspect the output type and contents, and decide what should happen next before you share it.
Output to verify
Result type: PDF outputSeparate a long document by selected pages or ranges so each resulting file is ready for its own recipient or purpose.
Check page order, orientation, text, permissions, and any visible signatures before sharing the PDF.
Check page order, text, orientation, and the number of files in the workspace before sending anything.
Use the workspace Download action after the result is ready. A browser handoff does not prove that a file was saved to disk.
If this workspace offers Delete now, use it after downloading. Availability depends on the tool and current result path.
Keep the source until you have verified the result, then move to a related PDF task or return to the tools catalog.
Practical example
A long project PDF contains finance, design, and legal chapters, but each reviewer needs only one section.
Define the page ranges, split the document, and check each smaller PDF before sending it to the relevant reviewer.
Choose the split boundary
Start with the intended handoff, not just the document length. Record the page boundaries, choose the available split method that matches them, and verify every resulting file independently.
Use this approach when
A receipt, certificate, drawing, or summary page needs to be shared without exposing the rest of the source document.
Check before sharing
Confirm the selected page number against the visible page content and open the output before sending sensitive material.
Use this approach when
A long manual or report has clear page ranges that different readers need as separate, focused documents.
Check before sharing
Include each chapter’s first and last page, watch for blank separator pages, and confirm no page is omitted between ranges.
Use this approach when
One exported PDF contains several records and each record must be handed off, named, or stored on its own.
Check before sharing
Identify every record boundary before processing and inspect each output for pages that belong to the preceding or following record.
Premium and Split PDF
Splitting a long report repeatedly runs into the 3-jobs-a-day Free cap. Premium removes it and handles far larger source files.
Usually next: Compress the parts you need to send, or extract just the pages you'll keep.
Paddle shows the exact amount, taxes, renewal date, and any eligible trial before you confirm. Stop future renewals yourself from your TapScanner billing account.
Work with confidence
The first eligible task can be completed before login. Current file, page, and usage limits are shown in the workspace.
TapScanner web's application data layer rejects filenames and document contents. Published analytics destinations require separate configuration verification.
Hosted processing paths may use temporary files. In the pinned core's normal download path, the output file is removed when the stream closes; scheduled cleanup covers stale temporary files.
Web tools may send files to TapScanner's hosted processing service. We do not currently offer a customer-selectable processing region, so do not assume processing stays on your device or in a particular country.
Delete-now is available only when a result screen explicitly offers it; it is not yet supported by every web tool.
Open the downloaded result and verify important pages, values, formatting, and permissions before relying on it.

Questions
Yes. Your first eligible task can be completed before login. TapScanner shows the current file, page, and daily limits before processing.
Yes. Select the single page or range you need and TapScanner creates a separate PDF containing only that selection.
No. TapScanner runs in a modern web browser, so you can upload, process, and download the result without installing desktop software.
Match each range to the visible page content, because printed page numbers inside a document may differ from the PDF page counter. Record the first and last page of every section before processing.
Yes. Keep the source until you have opened every output and confirmed that no page is missing, duplicated, or assigned to the wrong recipient.
Add your file and finish the job. The limits that apply are shown before processing starts, not after it fails.
